Biwabik, MN -- Tower, MN
The MSI dates back to 2015 - A 2v2, Minnesota vs Missouri experiment held in Minneapolis with matches at Rush Creek, The Meadows @ Mystic Lake, & the now shuddered Mississippi Dunes. There was no winner that year, no loser either. The entire 3 day competition is still under debate over the final putt, on the final hole, of the final round. Nevertheless, the MSI was born.
The Minnesota Summer Invitational is an Open Field with all friends and friends of friends considered. 2023 was a 12-man 6v6 competition and 2024 is shaping up for at least 12 field members, possibly 16.
A Ryder Cup team style has been the most common MSI format. Teams are chosen with Captain's Pluce & Blackmer drafting back and forth once all players are confirmed. Days 1 & 2 are generally 2 man scrambles and/or modified shambles, day 3 determines the annual winner with 1v1 singles matches. All formats subject to change & determined by the board of governors.

"99% of the putts that are short don't go in the hole"
